Restaurants in Virginia Highlands

Pozole

Date Place of the Week:From the owners of Wysteria comes Pozole, a cool little Mexican restaurant but it is currently very popular, which is why you are hearing about it, but also expect a crowd...not suggested for large crowds. Located right in the heart of the Highlands right behind the Dark Horse. Great outdoor patio if on a nice night you are lucky enough to grab an outdoor table.

Pura Vida

Great scene overall from awesome tapas to a full bar and a fantastic bar scene on the weekends-is not the hot spot during the week but can provide a great time on a Friday or Saturday.

Harry and Sons

Really? They made a sushi place named Harry and Sons? Yep, you're damn right they did, and guess what, it's great sushi damnit. Full bar and perfect for a first date, or a beginning to a night of drinking or just hanging out in the highlands. Park once for $5 around the corner and venture from Harry and Sons to all the bars. Located next to Limerick Junction and Blind Willie's (blues)- always good for a reasonable price. Be prepared to wait 15 for an available table.

Manuel's Tavern

Best Democratic bar/restaurant you could ever go to-just don't tell anyone if you are a republican-well, maybe you already know this. Anyway, Manuels is Atlanta's best original bar-opened in 1956 and still going strong with a great smell and aura. Not the wildest party in the ATL but a great place to kick back relax and drink with some friends without the BS of ever other place. No lines, no waiting- just drinking. The also serve food until late and brunch on the weekends starting at 11:00am-never a wait.
