This is the place you sit at the bar, order a beer, lift the beer to the air with a smile and toast that which is the Yacht Club. I have never had a bad time at this locals only little dive bar in Little five Points. You will meet some interesting people at the bar or sit at a table and drum up conversation with the next table. Do not go to the Yacht Club if you are feeling Antisocial: you will O.D. on Zanax. Great bar food menu also. |
Brewhouse Cafe

The quintessential British bar in Atlanta and the best place to catch a British Football (soccer) game even if it is at 7:00am because of the time change-but this is just one of those things you have to do once in your life, but if it is a big event get there early. Otherwise, the Brewhouse has one of the best patios in the city and a great place to chill and chat with other locals. |
The Earl, a.k.a. Bad Earl

Great locals bar and music venue every night of the week, located right in the heart of East Atlanta, and pretty much defining the heart of EAV. I rarely pass through East Atlanta without peeking my head into the Earl just to see if there are any regulars at the bar I would be interested in chatting with. Great bar menu with tater tots, boiled peanuts and serving late. No cover to get into the bar but typically to hear the music in the back. |
Flat Iron Bar

Small bar with a cool patio and typically you can find a seat. Park for free nearby and enjoy a scene a bit more on the grunge side. Great place to kick back with a beer and chat with the bartender - note to self: remove polo and deck shoes before walking in the door. |

In a new location now for about a year and a great place to hang with a different crowd and get away from all the pretentious crap. Come out, grab a PBR tall boy and take in some live entertainment almost every night of the week, Tuesday thru Saturday with a very cool dance party on Fridays called Trashed Dance Party. |
